10 Things that affect your erection

Want a strong, majestic erection?

Of course you do! What is the secret?

Make sure your heart is in tip top form because we all know that erections are all about blood flow.

Anything that puts a strain on your ticker like smoking or excess weight, will affect your heart’s ability to pump blood efficiently. Especially true when it comes to your erection and your sexual performance.  No blood supply no erection.

Testosterone is the second most important ingredient to a glorious and strong erection. And there are plenty of things that can mess with its production.

What follows are 10 things that can mess with your manhood, and for anyone with a penis, they know this is seriously messed up.  Rule them out for a mighty boner that will benefit you and your lady in the bedroom. Because no man wants his erection to disappear like a frightened turtle when push comes to shove.

1. Avoid BPA like the pest

What is BPA? It’s a chemical that increases your body’s production of the female hormone estrogen.

Where do you find BPA? In receipts, ATM or shopping receipts, lottery tickets, hard plastics and canned foods.

Avoid these if you can and when buying any plastic read if they are BPA free.

2. Sweet tooth

One of the keys to a healthy erection is a healthy diet.

Having a diet too high in sugar will cause a spike in your blood glucose levels, which stimulates the release of the hormone insulin. As a result, your testosterone production will plummet making it tougher for your manhood to rise to the occasion, shows a study from Irish and American researchers.

Lay off too much sweets, especially if you are planning on a night of lust.

3. Your beauty sleep

Sleeping less than seven hours a night disrupts the hormones that govern sex drive and sexual potency. Sleeping 5 hours a night for a few days will decrease your testosterone levels says a study from the University of Chicago. Sleep is essential to testosterone production, so fellas get your 8 hours a night of shut eye if you want a strong erection.

4. Excess weight

Overeating, stress and lack of physical activity can affect your sexual performance. It can change how you feel about yourself and can also lower levels of testosterone, you know that hormone that men have which is very important in getting turned on and produce an erection. Best way to lose unwanted weight is to make small changes to how you eat, how much you eat and how you look at exercise. Lose that excess weight an see your erection come up to thank you (pun intended)

5. No soy, please

According to a study by Harvard Medical School, soy has estrogen-like properties that reduce your body’s testosterone store. A little bit of soy won’t harm your manhood, but a soy heavy diet will spell trouble for your erection. So little soy is the key here.

6. Running

Research from the University of British Colombia, suggests that running 65Km or more a week can disrupt communications between your brain and hormone producing glands, causing testosterone to drop. Easy on those long runs, but instead do abdominal & Kegel exercises. Abdominal muscles support and hold your erection and will have your midriff looking nice too. Looking good will make you more confident enticing you to have more sex and increasing your sex drive.

7. Get outdoor

Vitamin D plays a crucial role in the production of testosterone, so spending time indoors can kill your erection. A German and Austrian research shows that lack of vitamin D can drop your T levels to up to 20% or more. Just 15 minutes of sunlight a day is enough to get your daily dose. Now maybe a trip to your local nude beach might an idea.

8. Lay off the booze

Alcohol is a depressant and it has a tendency to screw with your boner.

Fortunately, it’s not as gloom as you’d expect, too much booze will put a serious slump on your manhood, but a couple drinks a day should be fine. So don't overdo the alcohol if you want your pecker to impress your lady.

9. Quit smoking

If you still light up, you're increasing the risks of heart and lung disease and obviously hurting your performance in bed. Smoking cigarettes gives you bad circulation. And when you want to get down, the blood's gotta be flowing. So there's one more reason to quit.

A study published in the Journal of Urology found that smoking causes arterial damage that doubles a man's risk of total erectile dysfunction. The good news: "If men quit in their 50s or earlier, we can usually reverse the damage," says Andre Guay, M.D., director of the Lahey Clinic for Sexual Function, in Massachusetts.

10. Minimise Laptop Usage

Surprised? This boner-killer might be messing with your equipment. Turns out the heat from your computer, if you're in the habit of keeping it on your lap, could be causing you harm not only to your sperm count but to your erection.

So keep that computer on the desk, not your lap.

We all love a healthy and strong boner, so please take care of yours and don't shoot it out of action!

If you're looking to have sex in the very near future and you really, really want to be sporting a strong erection these are a few things you need to be aware of. Look after your health and your sex life will improve
dramatically and so will your manhood.
