Party

Having a New year's Eve party at our house as we have had the last few years. Spend the night before tidying up house, pool, yard etc (with help from a few of our wonderful friends), drop the kids off at my parents at 10 and then set up blow up mattresses, sheets etc in lounge rooms and spare rooms. Get towels etc out. Inviting about 30 people. Guests arrive at 2pm Caterers deliver food at 6. Praying for hot, sunny weather so we can have nude pool party and then play party. Last year was spoiled a bit by rain. Last stragglers are usually gone by 2pm new year's day and we will pick the kids up 4ish.
Usually have a blast but definitely a bit sore and tired the next night!

The usual is watching fireworks on the TV at home. I did try to brave the crowd in Melbourne once, after an advertised singles (a minority it turned out) masquerade ball in the suburbs, so left in advance and had my push bike with me thinking it would be a good way of making a quick exit to a convenient outer car park from inner parts of the city. Not sure if the same tactic would work in Sydney one year?
